Which nationalities can apply to teach in China? Do I need to do be from a native speaking country?

Yes. Only English speakers from English native countries can apply. 


Some of these countries include;

  1. USA

  2. Canada

  3. UK

  4. South Africa

  5. New Zealand

  6. Australia


You are very welcome to contact us to find out if we can get you a work visa if you are from a different nationality. 

Do I need to pay an agency fee to work in China?

No. There is no agency fee to be paid from the applicant.

What costs do I need to cover?

The only costs you will need to cover are;

  1. Visa application in your home country.

  2. Flight to China.


Upon successful contract completion, you are provided with an end of contract flight reimbursement.

How will my living arrangements work? Do I need find my own apartment?

You will be provided with a furnished apartment. 


In some cases, you can opt to receive a housing allowance and find an apartment yourself and pay any difference there is to the rent. 

Why must my documents be authenticated by the Chinese Consulate?

The amount of fake paperwork going around is beyond what you would imagine. This lead to parents and schools paying high fortunes for English teachers that are actually not qualified. 


The Chinese government implemented new regulations requiring all foreign work visa documents to be checked and officially authorized by foreign nationals local Chinese Consulate, making forging fraudulent documents a little harder. 

How long is a contract?

Contracts are kept to one year. Teachers are given the choice to renew contracts for another year if they so wish.

Agencies have a bad name in China, how do I know you are legit?

Firstly, we only accept applicants with the correct paperwork stipulated by the Chinese regulations to employ foreign teachers. 


Many agencies will tell lies to applicants that they don't need a work visa and come teach on student or business visa. Both those visas are eligible for legal work in China. 


We charge no fee to applicants, the only requirement we have is that you have the correct documents. â€‹

I am South African, how do I get my documents authenticated?

All documents need to be notarized by DIRCO before it will be accepted to the South African Chinese Consulate.


You can just take your documents to DIRCO to get notarized. 


Documents include;

  1. Bachelor's Degree.

  2. Police Clearance Certificate.


The following needs to be done for TEFL/TESOL and degrees from private institutions: 


Note that if you completed a degree at a private institution you are required to get a confirmation letter from that private institution. 


These documents must be taken to the High Court to get notarized, only after High Court has notarized your documents can DIRCO notarize them. 


All the above-mentioned documents need to be submitted to the Chinese Consulate for authentication.

What documents do I need?

  1. Bachelor's Degree.**

  3. TEFL/TESOL Certificate.** or two years of teaching experience with a reference letter.

  4. Valid Passport.

Can I teach on a student visa? How about a business visa?

No. A work visa is required.

Can a tourist, student or business visa be transferred to a work visa?

No. Visas cannot be transferred. 


A new application for a work visa is required.
